The only reason I have given it four instead of five stars is that I have difficulty swallowing the tablet, there is something about the shape that causes it to hang up in my throat unless I get everything just right.
Very nice clean and appealing packaging- it looks nice.
Still gave 4 stars because they may work for others and dont want to bash the product completely.
I got Colchicine perscribed by my Dr after the tart cherry pills were duds. With the Colchicine the gout attack in my toe was completely gone in 2 days. After the first day on Colchicine my walk with a limp was almost gone and day 2 i could jog again.
Save your time and money- go to a clinic or Dr and ask for Colchicine.
I like that it's a whole-fruit concentrate made with all non-GMO ingredients, many of which are organic. I wish the cranberry also were organic. Also, I'd prefer to take my Vitamins C and E separately to adjust the quantities and forms as needed. That's not a major issue, but it does prevent me from using on a daily maintenance schedule.
Overall, I am pleased with this product and will make sure it's always available when I need it!
Fast forward to this past fall...anxiety hit me like a ton of bricks in November. I was truly suffering. I was researching natural treatments and discovered that tart cherry not only helps sleep, but can also have positive effects on anxiety. I figured it was worth a try, but opted to go with supplements this time around. They're more economical and supposedly have the same great benefits.
The first few days I took a gel capsule, I honestly didn't notice many changes....but on the 4th day, wow! I slept the best I'd slept in 3 months. While I still have anxiety, it's manageable now...and I'm so much better rested. For $20, what do you have to lose?
I like the idea of a concentrated pill. But if you can swallow it.
I love the SR brand as their D3+K2 is amazing and proven effective after lab tests.
Will see how this new one worksworks
UPDATE from 1 Star to 4 Star: Contacted the manufacturer - They sent out a replacement bottle. Pleased with their response and how they handled situation.
Will order, again.
Buy the book Neurogenesis. And read it.
The capsules are a little big (my throat can't handle anything but tiny capsules). Those are the reasons for the 4 stars, but in general, these are really good for anyone without extreme sleeping or swallowing issues.
The pills came in perfect condition and seemed fresh. They were easy to swallow. As hopeful as I was, after trying these daily for more than a week, I have not noticed any difference in my pain levels. And whether or not I am sleeping better is questionable. I will mention that I have lupus and therefore, curbing my joint pain and decreasing the insomnia I suffer from would be quite the task for any individual supplement. BUT there have been things that provided a noticeable difference and, unfortunately, this wasn't one of them. Believe it or not, Walgreens brand Quick Dissolve Melatonin, has been AMAZING for helping me fall asleep. I can feel it's effects within 10-20 minutes. That doesn't help me stay asleep but I can always tell when I've taken it. This cherry supplement...not so much.
The only negative thing is that the bottle does not have any desiccants inside. Very often the capsules gets very hard to separate from each other. Hence, minus one star.
I have severe gout and heretofore have taken concentrated cherry juice. The Tart Cherry Concentrate tablets 2 tablets twice a day are as effective and more convenient when traveling
Update on my review:
Each time I order a product from that company there is a "get a free bottle on us". The only thing with that is that it works 50% of the time if you are lucky. The website you have to go to, has always an error (error 103) and it doesn't let you claim your free bottle. You are the only seller with that problem. And you are not fixing it!! Why?
Because of that I lower my rating. Went from 5 stars to 4 stars. Here is the details: 5 for the product and 3 for the deceptive promotion.
I have been using homemade edibles for sleep, as I don't feel groggy with them like I do with commercially available sleep aids.
Last night I tried the tart cherry capsule with a smaller than normal edible. When I woke in the middle of the night, I was able to go right back to sleep. So far, so good. Tonight I will try it without the edible. I am hoping that this will perform as well without the edible. These pills are a lot cheaper,
Update (12/15/2019): OK, here, I go, fourth bottle. I'm afraid to stop! LOL. So now "occasionally" I get a little pain. It's a lot less than before. I am drinking more water, eating better, and taking these. Could the first 2 be enough? Maybe, but I'm afraid to risk it right now... (I just ordered another). Will keep posting!
Update (01/23/2020): All these months now and the pain in rare and short lived. Nothing like before....
I love blueberries! In the spring and winter it's hard to get a good deal on fresh blueberries in large supply. So I tried your Blueberry supplement to hold me over on the benefits of blueberries until I can eat lots of them again! I can't tell the difference honestly because I take other supplements in the morning.
All I can say, of course after consulting with your physician, GIVE IT A TRY!!!!!
lately my eyes aren’t as dry, aren’t hurting like they usually do and not red, bloodshot. since the blueberry supplements is the only real change I made of late, I am thinking these may be helping with the dry eyes.
only concern i kinda have (since i don't know if this is normal) with these was that some of these look discolored; some are completely dark red, some are dark red with a lighter tanish brown color spot/area that reminds me of a cherry pit and some are an overall lighter red brown color.
Convenience: I have found these and other concentrated tart cherry capsules to be a good way to get 1-2 servings of tart cherry juice without the substantial calories that come with drinking the juice or concentrates or eating the dried fruit.
However, my one problem with this Sports Research product has been swallowing the fairly large oval shaped capsules -- several times they have gotten stuck in the back of my throat and I've had to flush them down in a panic with a lot of water.
I have therefore just switched to another brand on Florenmolamarts where the capsules are smaller but you have to take two. I'm currently trying
Tart Cherry 1100 Mg * 120 Capsules *
-- they provide double the number of capsules in a bottle and the 2-capsule serving contains almost 50% more mg at a cost of about $7 less per month so it's a better deal. However, they don't make any claims about being from Organic cherries or non-GMO if that's important to you. Florenmolamarts lists several other brands to consider at various price ranges.
Have these tart cherry concentrate capsules cured my gout? Hard to say. I haven't had an attack in the 3 months that I've been consuming cherry concentrate (1 month of liquid + 2 months of SR capsules). At $20 for 60 capsules, I'm willing to keep betting on them. My second bottle just arrived today.
This was all I could hope for. I get the sound sleep and the reduced inflammation that I take tart cherry for. I don't have to worry about added sugar or incorrect dilutions. I will be ordering more, especially since my wife has caught on to the idea, so my supply will last half as long.
I have given only 4 stars instead of 5 because the capsules are uncomfortably big. Some folks may have trouble swallowing them. It looks like the softgel capsule is about a "16 oval" size, but they might be better off making the product in, say, an "8.5 oval" or "8 oblong" size, and instructing the user to take 2 at a time.
