Returned to Doctor.
My 15 year old daughter felt feverish on a Thursday, just before a big volleyball tournament that weekend. She actually didn't tell me until she got home from school because she was worried I'd make her miss practice and she wouldn't be able to play that weekend, but she had been having chills all day. Obviously she did have to miss practice that night to avoid getting the whole team sick, but that's beside the point. I called her coach and she said to keep her home as there had been a virus going around the club that started with 24 hrs of fever, then 24 hrs of feeling REALLY terrible (fever, aches, nausea, congestion) then mostly resolves day 3. Players and coaches had all had the same thing. Later on a couple of my co-workers told me they'd had it too, same time frame.
Thursday night her fever was 102.6 when I started her on the 12 capsule pack, giving 2 capsules every hour from 8pm to 10pm then stopped to let her get a good night's sleep and started again at 8am with the other 3 doses. I also gave her ibuprofen at 8pm Thursday. I checked her temp at 3:30am Friday morning and fever was gone, but I thought it might just be the ibuprofen. Friday I kept her home from school to rest, but she actually felt fine all day Friday, no fever, no nausea, no aches or pains. She played really hard in the tournament Saturday. I kept expecting her to crater and was watching to see if I needed to pull her out because they had 5 really tough games, but she played well and got through it fine. Sunday she did have just a little relapse with some congestion, but still played both games they had on Sunday. I feel sure that if she hadn't had such a grueling day Saturday she would have recovered without missing a beat and I also believe that if I hadn't given her the Viracid she would have had to deal with the normal course of the virus which would have meant being very sick Friday and at least worn out Saturday if not still sick.
Oh I also increased her vitamin D3 along with the Viracid and I've kept my whole family on both ever since because we just don't have time to get sick.
I normally don't give 5 star reviews unless it is something that I truly am impressed with and will tell others about. I keep a photo of the Viracid label and nutrition information on my phone so I can show people what I'm talking about whenever it comes up, which it does a lot. I am a doctor (not physician) and I understand that anecdotal evidence isn't as valuable as a true study, but looking over the reviews here, it looks like mine is not the only good experience.
Thank you
Janet
